Our Story

Established in 2020, DeGonda Custom Sauna Builders began as a Covid project- building a sauna up near Stone Lake, WI. inspired by the Gustavus Adolphus College sauna. Led by Jack DeGonda- a Twin Cities based structural engineer, we fuse form and function to design personalized, architecturally beautiful spaces built to be loved.

We pride ourselves on attention to detail, an emphasis on highlighting structure, and creating well-built locally-made saunas that will last a lifetime.

Custom builds allow for each individual sauna to seamlessly integrate into the site and environment in which it is built. We work with clients to propose multiple options for floor and bench layouts, locating windows to optimize natural light, and frame the entrance for maximal utility.

What is the cost of a consultation?

Completely free. After some conversation, we will be able to draw up some design ideas and a bid at no cost to clients.

What role do clients play in the design process?

Client input is central to custom sauna design. During the preliminary design, we take client input on site location, sauna layout, preferred materials and budget constraints.

How long does the design process typically take?

Depending on workload, preliminary design and bid can be completed in 2-4 weeks.

How are project budgets managed?

Many different design choices can be made in the preliminary design process that affect final cost. Premium materials, stove choice, and layout can be the bigger factors, but we are committed to providing a thoughtful design that fits within budget constraints.
